In this session we
will take a look at the Microsoft Virtual Server
product. Virtual machine technology allows
multiple operating systems to run concurrently
on a single machine, which can help boost
administrator productivity and save money by
enabling customers to migrate legacy
applications and also help them consolidate
applications on fewer servers. For those new to
this environment we will discuss what a Virtual
environment is and how the Server product
compares to the desktop product, Microsoft
Virtual PC, and when to use each solution. We
will cover the installation and setup of the
product from the actual server to the actual
drives.
In
this session we will take an
in-depth look at Internet
Security and Accelerator
Server 2004. ISA Server 2004
is the advanced application
layer firewall, VPN, and Web
cache solution that enables
customers to easily maximize
existing IT investments by
improving network security
and performance. We will
cover a variety of areas
within the product, starting
with an architectural
overview. We will take a
look at different firewall
configurations and how
easily ISA can be applied to
these configurations. From
there we will explore how
ISA filters, publishes and
protects your network. We
will examine ISA's rules and
policies, including how they
work and how to create and
configure them. We will also
cover VPN access and server
publishing, and will
conclude with a look at
monitoring, looking and
alerts. We invite both IT
Pros familiar with ISA and
people new to the product to
this informative session.
