West Sound Technology Professionals Association
Honorary Chairman, Congressman Jay Inslee, will
address professionals and leaders from
government, education, business, technology, and
economic development sectors in a seven-county
region at West
Sound Technology Professional Association's
(WSTPA) 3rd annual "Western Washington
Summit on Technology and Economic Development
Entrepreneurship." The event, to be held
October 21, 2004 from 4:00-8:30PM at Kitsap
Conference Center in Bremerton, WA has a
world-class agenda which will provide
cutting-edge knowledge on how to increase
productivity by incorporating best practices and
proven management techniques into your
technology and business vision. A technology
showcase with exhibitors will be followed by a
buffet and presentations, with a no-host bar
available throughout the entire event.
Presenters include:

Lee Cheatham, Executive Director, Washington
Technology Center, whose
topic is "Seizing Tomorrow's Opportunities:
An Industry Forecast". The presentation is
based upon the center's Index of Innovation,
which identified the Kitsap region as having
the highest growth rate in technology jobs
in the state.
Robert
McDowell, Vice President of Business
Critical Solutions for Microsoft
Corporation, will bring clarity and closure to questions about the crucial
success factors for realizing business valve
from technology in his
presentation "The Information
Technology Payoff: Positioning for the
Rebound”.
A
keynote panel will answer questions
regarding the perceived direction global
outsourcing is likely to take in Washington
State, the implications these trends have
for companies and workers in the state, and
the steps/actions needed to ensure companies
and workers in Washington State remain
competitive in the global market. Entitled
"Global Outsourcing: The Irreversible
Megatrend?”, the panelists include
Dr. Madhu Rao,
Principal Investigator - Albers School of
Business and Economics, Seattle University;
Joy Howland, Development Director of RATEC
and Board of Directors, Society for
Information Management (Seattle Chapter);
