Intel's
Execute Disable Bit functionality, first
released for the Intel® Itanium® processor
family in 2001, can now prevent certain classes
of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks on 32-bit
machines when combined with Microsoft Windows XP
SP2.

IT Pros can
view a flash demo to learn how to protect
their systems from malicious worms that create a
flood of code that overwhelms the processor,
allowing the worm to propagate itself to the
network, and other computers.
Culminis is currently working together with
Microsoft and Intel as part of the launch of
Microsoft Windows XP SP2 to the IT Pro
community. Member
Organizations
should stay-tuned for exclusive events jointly
sponsored by Culminis, Microsoft and Intel. For
more information about Intel’s Execute
Disable Bit functionality,

For more
information about the special edition of
Microsoft XP SP2 provided by Culminis to Member
Organizations, read the article "Culminis
Member Organizations to Receive Special XP SP2
Kit."
