A
philosopher once said,
"We walk in fields of diamonds every day. The
problem is, we never look down to realize what
we are missing."
I think that he
was referring to potential and opportunities.
At Culminis, we
have taken great pains to try to maximize
potential and opportunities wherever we can. We
are always exploring ways to increase our value
to our Culminis Alliance Member Organizations as
well as increase our value to our sponsors.
At Tech•Ed,
we were able to realize just such an
opportunity.
Windows and .NET Magazine
held their
annual Best of Tech•Ed
awards for the top technology companies. During
that meeting, they also announced an alliance
with Culminis. Additionally, I am pleased to
announce that all of this year's winners are now
part of the Culminis family.
We are now in a
much stronger position to provide great value to
our user group leaders as well as provide a
powerful voice for our sponsors to the world's
IT PRO community.
We continue to
grow and prosper and the Culminis staff is
working tirelessly to build all of the great
tools to help each of you to realize potential
and opportunities for your organizations. We are
over 220,000 IT PROS represented in more than
430 IT PRO organizations.
I want to thank
each of you for joining us and working with us.
We greatly appreciate your patience as we work
hard to bring all of the value Culminis can
provide, to you.
Culminis is all
about bringing IT together and making a positive
difference. |
To that end, I
would like to ask each of the leaders of the
Culminis Alliance to look for opportunities to
make a difference in the lives of your friends,
neighbors and fellow professionals.
The Culminis
Alliance can do wonderful things to raise the
quality of life for many with some effort and
dedication.
For example,
one of our Culminis Alliance Member
Organizations set up a donation program at their
monthly meeting. When a member brought a
donation item (food and/or clothing) that member
qualified for a special drawing for a nice door
prize. Through this program, last year, that
group was responsible for over twenty tons of
food and clothing being donated to the homeless
and to local food banks.
Another group
set up a volunteer program to help tutor
children in the schools which led to a
comprehensive computer education program that
won a regional award for excellence and helped
hundreds of children.
These were not
individuals who sought personal gain or
recognition. In fact, they asked not to be
named. They just wanted to make a difference.
They did and
they are continuing to do so.
At Culminis, we
are working very hard to build programs and
incentives to make it easier for you, the leader
of a Culminis Alliance Program organization, to
make a difference. As we bring them on line, I
hope that you will take advantage of them.
I'd like to ask
each of you to stop for a moment and take a look
around.
You might see a diamond or
two underfoot.
