The Culminis Compass - June, 2004
Culminis @ TechEd: A Success Story

Culminis hosted a booth at TechEd 2004. The event was a great success on all fronts. We were able to talk with several group leaders and explain the Culminis mission and benefits, generating awareness and excitement among those current leaders.  We also talked with a number of people, who fall into the group comprised of about 80% of the total people who stopped by the booth, who were not members of any user group. This draws attention to the challenge we all face, both at Culminis and in the IT Professional community, in generating awareness and excitement about user groups.  User groups offer a wealth of support for IT Professionals, and it is up to all of us to promote user groups and the benefits they offer.

The Culminis team was also very proactive in communications with potential sponsors. We generated excitement and enthusiasm around our mission, catching the interest of several possible sponsors. We will keep you up to date as these relationships develop.

Windows & .NET Magazine and Culminis announced a partnership at the Windows

& .NET Magazine award party. All of their award winners also received sponsorship status as a part of their prize package. Congratulations to all of the winners, we look forward to working with you.

Finally, Culminis gave away 8 copies of Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, valued at $4000 each and generously donated by Microsoft, from among attendees who stopped by the Culminis booth and filled out a short information card. The winners are:

Dan Zanetta
Jason Ballard
Shaun Roberts
Ken Foster
Lynn Lawton
Herbert Pruitt
Ana c.v. de Meho
Lawan M Johnson

Congratulations to all the Winners!!

(note: if any of the winners cannot be reached, alternate names will be drawn)
